ONE lady on a boat selling bananas does NOT a floating market make.

I was more interested in this MG outside the gem factory.

4th Floor food court inside MBK. If you need to eat in MBK, skip the 'international food street' on the 5th floor. Go down to the 4th floor and eat here.

Choice of beef or pork noodles.

I went for beef.

I cannot resist street food, and I cannot resist unknown meats on sticks.

Amazingly, this tasted like a bite of chicken rice. All it needed was some chicken rice chilli for dipping. I think its rice mixed with pork and spices wrapped in sausage skin.

We had one seafood set, and one thai set. The seafood set was well worth it. Although it was a little disappointing that the food was served cold. I could smell the prawns being grilled and it smelled amazing. If only they could have served it hot.

I believe that instrument is called a khim.

Day 3 - 25 Jan 2013

 Good morning Grand Palace.

 

There's a Angkor Wat miniture in the Grand Palace.

As a fan of the Ancient Astronaut Theory, I found the murals very very interesting.

We were lucky enough to catch the changing of the guard. Not as precise and disciplined as the one in Taipei, but still interesting nonetheless.

Behind the Grand Palace, the Tha Chang Cross Ferry River Pier. There's a little market. This was the only stall that had locals eating inside. I later learnt that this dish is called Kuey Teow Neu in Thai.

Same market. Lady was making fresh grilled chicken. That was pretty delicious.

Fried Pork Belly. As much I would have liked to try it. It looked absolutely too sinful. Plus the wife is not a fan, and I doubt if I could finish it by myself.

Pre-dinner snack. Pork ball noodle soup. The soup was so clear yet so delicious.

Central world is actually between Chit Lom and Siam Square. Completely walkable.

 

There was a little flea market going on outside 'Big C' mall. We were in luck. They had really nice handmade trinkets and souveniers.

That's a typical spice counter in a thai supermarket. I wish we could have them here.

Tom Yum Prawn. They added a splash of coconut milk to make it more lemak. I really liked it.

Oh yes. 3 nights in Bangkok, 2 dinners at my favourite place.

Day 4 - 26 Jan 2013

Post-Breakfast snacks. They were making fresh dough fritters and this guy was doing grilled rice cakes with an egg coating.

There is also fresh veges with every meal. Always.

There was this humongous 1Dx hanging outside the Canon shop at Siam Square. The most amazing part was probably that it had a serial number at the bottom. That's what I call attention to detail.
