Day 3 : 18 Oct

Sushi Platter @ sushizanmai

The East Gate leading into the Palace grounds

This guard house would have contained 100 samurai when the Emperor was in attendance.

Tree on top of wall

The East Garden. Now how did I manage to get a photograph with absolutely no people?

The site of the place where the 47 ronin fella attacked the fella that caused him to commit hari-kiri

The "short" Rokurinsha (this was about 3pm)

Sunset view of Tokyo Tower

Day 4 : 19 Oct

This is what REAL uni looks like from it's shell. (except for that big one bottom row 2nd from right). Its actually 5 'blades' within the shell.

UNI!!!!

How big was the oyster?

As big as my hand.

Grilled meat on sticks @ Tsukiji

Fried Squid Legs. So yum.

Japanese Meron is hella expensive, and the guy preparing it is an artisan (without a manbun)

That's $7 for a slice

Every time I tell myself I want to buy some and bring it home. Every time I don't

The windows below the sign is where our AirBnB is located. The apartment was 5 panes across from the right. Very large by Japanese standards.

I had read about this 'crossing' man before we left for Tokyo. Did not expect to see him.

The Robot Restaurant

You go in about 15mins before the show and sit in this gaudy waiting area. The decor would not look out of place on the real housewives of jersey

Drums

I'm pretty thankful I bought the 5D3 from Joel. The upper end of the ISO range is awesome.

Bored looking remote controller

Seriously, there was a moronic malaysian woman sitting in front of us who kept her wifi on (I saw her passport, and she kept texting on whatsapp) and one of the 'robots' actually broke. Obviously we have no way to tell if she really caused it, but one robot really broke (it wouldn't respond to the controller) and she was the only one texting (that I could see)

Halloween Special

The first 'real' robot in the show.

Another of the 'robot' floats.

Dave needs to get one of these outfits for his gigs

Day 5 : 20 Oct

This is the place they buried the samurai who died next to Tom Cruise. Too bad Tom Cruise didn't die, or that movie would have gone from good to great.

True story, look it up. The second from last samurais died here.

It seems that the Ueno area is awash with panda stuff. Panda cakes, decorations...etc. Turns out that there are Pandas in the Ueno Zoo and they are a big draw.

Masaru. I was early. No Queue.

Best Tendon ever. Would this place join the Best of the Best list that should not be shared? Probably. The only reason why I post it is because I doubt most people can find it, even with the address, a map and GPS.

Same place, 358 days later.

New place. 358 days later.

It's a boat that's house, on a river that's a pond, in a city that's a city.

Tokyo Sky Tree

Halloween decorations are everywhere.

The Famous Seats. Celebrities such as Bill Murray, Scarlett Johanssen and Anthony Bourdain have parked their butts on those seats.
