My last morning in Bali, I had to go back to that little breakfast joint on Kuta Beach.

I really liked Bali. The beach break is the perfect place to learn to surf. The water is lovely, the waves are gorgeous and the beach is cleaned up every day. Walking along the streets felt safe, and I love that there are beautiful little family temples every few metres. I did not feel the sleeze like when I walked around in Phuket. The touts were not as bothersome and there weren't the shitheads on the beach taking up prime spots trying to rent you beach chairs and towels. Also, the lack of creepy old white men and their whores really, really, really made things better.

I loved the food, especially the Sate Babi and the Mee Goreng. I was really glad that the Balinese are Hindu and not Muslim. Plenty of Pork everywhere. Pork and Sambal with Beer is pretty much the perfect combination.

I can't wait to get back to Bali. Definitely want to do a proper tour this time. Go to the mother temple, the dormant volcanoes, the inland scenery...etc

I also want to find the REAL place Bourdain had his Babi Guling.

My favourite photo from Bali. I think it personifies what Bali is about. There is still so much culture and tradition on the island.

My one complaint was that I could not get a detailed map the island from the freebie tourist brochures. In fact, this was probably the best map I could find of Kuta... and it was on a Tsunami evacuation notice.
