Live Scallop.
Amazing Prawns on a stick
Clams steamed in Sake
Beef Tongue
Piss Alley
My fave, secret meat on sticks place
Appetiser. Cold Beancurd skin soaked in a soy and miso sauce with sesame seeds. Super Delicious
The only veges I eat. (From top) Asparagus wrapped in bacon, and Garlic shoots wrapped in bacon.
The one reason for me to visit Tokyo Annually. Masaru
This awful picture does no credit to the deliciousness of the ten-don bowl
A warm cup of coffee while watching the madness below
I don't usually eat desserts, but this pancake house was just too tempting.
Bourdain ate here
Hatsu
Tan
Shiro and Reba
I don't ususally eat desserts, but my secret meat on sticks place was calling out to me. (From top) Asparagus wrapped in bacon, Shiitake wrapped in bacon, Garlic shoot wrapped in bacon, Eringi wrapped in bacon.
So nice to have an unburnt croissant, while on leave, watching the madness of worker bees going to their jobs.
Blanched Beansprouts with special meat sauce
Gyoza. Ya.
So one travels to Tokyo to eat Boston Lobster Rolls.
THIS may be the best food in Tokyo (Also Bourdain's favourite). Lawson's Egg Sandwich.
Visited a historical Unagi place for dinner. Appetiser: Unagi Jelly and cured Unagi
Unagi don. The portion was way too small.
Tamagoyaki at Tsukiji
Giant freshly shucked Oysters at Tsukiji
Uni on Unagi? What madness is this?
Supposedly A5 wagyu, grilled. Very expensive and Very NOT wagyu. The shop lied. If you go to Tsukiji and see this guy grilling Wagyu, stay far, far away.
UniBun. Something new I discovered at Tsukiji. A black steamed bun, stuffed with Uni.
I did not expect the depth of the Uni stuffing. This was a serious UniBun
Crab-roe paste stuffed in a crab shell, grilled over a flame.
Some shell thing that looked delicious and tasted like shit
Tamagoyaki flavoured Ice-Cream Custard Puff. Weird, but delicious. @Toyosu
When one visits Japan, one has to eat at MacDonalds. This is the good stuff. Not that awful stuff in Singapore.
This is the stairway to Heaven.
This is Heaven and my trip to Tokyo is complete.
