We planned to tour the 'Blue' MRT line on day 4. Most importantly, to see the Taipei 101.
Breakfast was at Ikari Coffee, this place that TBH had been meaning to try located near the central station. It was a really nice place (kinda reminded me of True Brew) that served good food and really good coffee. Targeted to the working crowd and the Japanese businessman, the set breakfast was really affordable and quite filling. They had an interesting order system. They'd give you this UFO shaped thing, that would light up when your order was ready, then all you'd have to do is go to the counter to collect it. No yelling or calling out numbers. Nice!
>The Taipei Railway station. Next time I go back, I want to take a train down to Southern Taiwan.
That's the National Museum (different from the National Palace Museum). It's surrounded by a beautiful park and it was lovely for a lazy morning stroll.
Why this shot? There is actually no road behind the motocycles. It's actually the front gate of the museum. There's a strange traffic light system, where the motocycles turning into that main street are required to wait in front of the museum.
People have complained that there are never photos of me in my trips. Well... here you go.
Lunch at Taipei 101. TBH wanted something hot(temperature) and soupy, so she picked this chicken curry noodle from the 'Singapore Sentosa' stall. It wasn't very good.
I'm comming soon... to Engrish.com
I mentioned that the taiwanese are Yankee mad? Well, they have a mall called 'New York, New York'.
Car accident. I could not resist.
Siew Mai(at the New York New York foodcourt), I could not resist either. It wasn't very good though.
Sushi (at the New York New York foodcourt). Now this was an interesting dish. The colourful item on the right was actually squid, stuffed with 3 different kinds of roe, ginger and wasahbi. It tasted weird if you took small bites, but if you managed to stuff the whole thing into your mouth, the combination of flavours was fantastic.
Arty shot of Taipei 101
Cherry blossoms.
This was my ONE clear shot of Taipei 101. Almost every other shot had the top bit covered in clouds. No, we didn't go up. The sky wasn't very nice for viewing, and the cloud cover meant that you couldn't see anything anyway.
Happy creme brulee.
