Our earliest start on the trip. 8am and we were already on the boat. The Mick elected to stay back and hang out with his wife and kid (more on that story later), so the rest of us shoved off without him.
Our first stop, Naked Island. WOW!!!!! Just a little turf of sand in the middle of the pacific ocean. Boy was it gorgeous. This is what I've been dreaming about.
Next stop, Daco Island. OK, THIS was what I was dreaming about. white sand beach, clear blue water, fantastic sky.... Tropical paradise. (plus points for being untouched by tourists). We spent the day on Daco, and moved on (too late) to the next island. Too late because the tide had gone out and the next island was a bust.
And the adventure begins. Remember what I said about our beach being a marsh when the tide goes out? Well, the boat obviously can't drop us back on the shore, so they let us out about 100+ metres out, and we had to trudge through the marsh back to dry land. Marsh 1, Adventurers 0. Oh, and before I forget. Since the tides were so low, the highest place they could drop us was at General Luna, right off Patricks (not in front of our lodgings), so that meant another 30min walk back to Travellers.
Seeing that we're at Patricks, we decided to stop for more mango rum and an early dinner. It was at this time that we discovered that the Mick had gone around the corner for milk and found a better place to stay. The vote was to either join him that night or the next day. Pity that we returned to Travellers too late to join him that very night... because...(to be continued)
