Finally Clearing immigration at Narita

Day 1

So I've been to Narita quite a few times over the last 2 years. Strangely, I've never been past the immigration checkpoint. Yes, I've never been to Tokyo. Who would have thought.

Anyway, with news that Tsukiji is moving away from its current location to somewhere even more inaccessible, I knew I had to get off my butt and make the pilgrimage.

I planned the trip around eating spots. I planned how to get to each eating spot, what sights are around the eating spots, how long would the queue be at each eating spot. It was planned with a military precision that my bosses would be proud.

I broke the trip up into 2 parts. 1st half would be spent at Tsukiji, so that I would visit the morning Tuna auction and eat at the market. 2nd half would see us move to Shinjuku to see the city lights.

Day 2

So I woke up at 3.45am to go to the Tuna Auction. I get there before 4am but its too late. The 120 spots are already taken. Damn.

The queue outside Sushi Dai. 2-3 hour wait? I think not. I don't have enough time in Tokyo as it is.
